A waterfront property at West Kirby on the Wirrall was recently threatened during a storm by flooding from the heavy seas.
The owner had recently converted part of her basement garage to a bedroom whilst leaving the remainder for storage. During the heavy storm, sea water crashed into the front of the property filling the unconverted part of the garage with approximately five feet of sea water! Fortunately Dampshield of Buckley (01244 537236) www.damp-shield.co.uk had installed a Platon cavity drain membrane and Aqua Pump system as part of the bedroom conversion that meant the new bedroom remained completely dry.
Both neighbouring properties were completely flooded and the property owner was extremely happy with, and relieved by, the performance of the waterproofing system installed.
