Triton offers an extensive range of pumps, sumps, drainage channels and alarms as an integral part of its Platon cavity membrane waterproofing system. These provide effective mechanical drainage solutions for all below ground structures where a cavity drain system is being installed.

The drainage solutions are designed to be fully maintainable, as is a requirement for Type C drained protection systems in accordance with BS 8102 (2009), the Code of Practice for protection of below ground structures against water from the ground.

Aqua Channel

Top of page

Cavity drain systems manage water that penetrates the external structure and direct it to a suitable discharge point. There is permanent reliance on the cavity to collect groundwater and therefore a need for access points to allow the system to be maintained. Consideration must also be given to the impact of free lime from new concrete construction. A suitable anti-lime coating such as Triton Concrete Sealer should be applied to the structure before installation of the Platon cavity drain system to avoid obstruction to the drainage system and pumps.

Triton Aqua Channel is a PVC drainage conduit designed to control water ingress in below ground situations. It is fitted around the perimeter of the floor at the vulnerable wall/floor junction and is particularly suited for use in conjunction with Isola Platon cavity drain membranes. Water entering the building through the walls is controlled behind the Platon membrane, and diverted down to the Aqua Channel at the base of the wall. The water enters the Aqua Channel through pre-drilled drainage holes and must then be diverted to a suitable drainage point, either natural, or a sump and mechanical pump. As a general rule a minimum of one sump/discharge point is required for every 50 linear metre run of Triton Aqua Channel.

Channel Outlet
Channel Outlet: Consists of a 90° PVC bend and a PVC male coupling (with swivel action) which is fitted to the base of the Aqua Channel to allow water to be taken from it to the water collection point (sump and pump) via a 40mm OD solvent weld PVC pipe.
Channel Outlet
Channel End Outlet: Where gravity fed drainage is used, this Outlet converts the pentagonal shape of the Aqua Channel into a round aperture for connection to a 40mm pipe and allows water to be discharged into a 'P' trapped gulley or soakaway.
Channel Outlet
Rodding Eye: It is recommended that one rodding eye is installed for every 10 linear metre run of Aqua Channel to allow periodic cleaning of the drainage system.

Pumps & Pump Kits - Aqua Pump Pro Range

Triton has developed the Aqua Pump Pro range primarily for the new build specification market. Designed for easy installation, the sump features flanges to key in to the placed concrete, a galvanised steel access cover and frame for heavier trafficking and pre-located inlet and discharge points.

Triton Aqua Pump Pro

The Triton Aqua Pump Pro is specially designed for the removal of ground water from basement cavity drain membrane systems. Comprising polyethylene sump, locking access cover and a powerful submersible pump, the system is very versatile enabling installers to locate inlets to their specifications.

  • Quick and easy to install
  • Maximum head 7m
  • Pump capacity 132 litres/minute
Please Note: All pumps should be wired to their own
independent fused spur.

Triton Aqua Pump Pro Plus

The Triton Aqua Pump Pro Plus is identical to the Aqua Pump Pro system above but is supplied with two mains powered pumps. These can be plumbed to either a single discharge outlet or to two separate outlets from the sump. The second mains pump is located on the raised foot within the chamber and provides back up to the primary pump and additional capacity to the system if required.

Please Note: All pumps should be wired to their own
independent fused spur.

Triton Aqua Pump Pro Battery Back Up

The Aqua Pump Pro Battery Back Up system comprises a polyethylene sump, locking access cover, powerful submersible pump, 24v back up pump and control panel. It is designed for use where primary pump failure through mechanical fault of loss of mains power would be catastrophic. The system alerts the end user if the water rises above the normal operating level within the sump, and activates the back up pump via three separate float switches. The panel contains two trickle charged batteries.

  • Control panel can be located up to 20m from sump
  • Easy to install
  • Back up and mains powered pump have similar capacity
  • Maximum head 6.5m
  • Maximum pump capacity 180 litres/minute
Please Note: All pumps should be wired to their own
independent fused spur.

Pumps & Pump Kits - Aqua Pump Range

Triton Aqua Pump Kit

The Triton Aqua Pump Kit is a complete, ready to use water control system comprising a pre-formed sump basin, a single mains powered 230V submersible pump, internal 40mm plumbing to sump, including a non-return valve, and a battery powered, high water level alarm.

  • Quick and easy to install
  • Standard 40mm discharge pipes
  • Pump capacity 120 litres/minute at 4m head
  • Independent fused spur required for each set of wiring

The Triton Aqua Pump Kit is located in the floor at the lowest point in the basement and nearest to a suitable point of discharge for the pump. The sump lid is capable of accepting foot traffic and is easily removed for maintenance and servicing access. Full installation guidelines are provided and these should be read carefully before installation.

Triton Aqua Pump Plus Kit

Triton recommends the use of two pumps in each sump to guard against mechanical failure. The Triton Aqua Pump Plus Kit comes with identical elements to the Triton Aqua Pump Kit with the addition of a second mains powered pump. This provides both back up to the first pump and increased capacity within the sump if required. To maximise capacity of the pumps they should be linked to separate discharge pipes.

Triton Aqua Pump Battery Back Up Kit

The Triton Aqua Pump Battery Back Up Kit is designed to be installed within 1.8m of the Triton Aqua Pump sump basin and is normally located in a cupboard at basement floor level. It provides peace of mind to the property owner as, in the event of a mechanical breakdown of the primary pump or a temporary power failure, the water pumping system will remain operational and the basement will remain dry.

Located within its own watertight housing, the kit comprises a 12v battery, 12v pump, battery trickle charger and float switch. The pump is connected to the sump via a suction hose. Full installation guidelines can be downloaded at www.triton-chemicals.com

  • Up to 16 hours continual running
  • Pump capacity 1920 litres/hour
  • Independent fused spur required for each set of wiring

Control Panels & Alarms

Triton offers high level water alarms as well as control and monitoring panels to suit specific applications. The range includes mains or battery powered alarms, single or twin pump alarms, and monitoring and dual assist control panels.

Single Pump Monitor Alarm

This unit has an integral high level audible/visual mains alarm, which is activated by the pump's float mechanism within the sump. It also records each activation of the pump and length of run time of the pump, which is ideally suited where unknown levels of water ingress occur and also to monitor changes in levels of ingress between service intervals.

Pump Servicing and Maintenance

In accordance with BS 8102 (2009), Type C drained protection systems should be maintained. The service period, usually every 6 - 12 months, should be agreed at the outset with the installing contractor or a specialist pump servicing company. Triton can provide details of suitable companies on request.

As an aid to maintenance, Triton supplies a ready to use Anti Lime Solution which is designed to remove lime scale and other build up within the drainage system.
